It’s that time of year again… After barely making it past the holiday season with your “beloved” extended family, a New Year’s hangover from hell, and fucking ice storm straight from the ice ages, you now have the stress of planning an amazingly romantic evening for your partner—complete with sexy time. Unless, of course, you’re single, in which case you’ll still have stress of the emotional variety, wondering why you’re so damn undesirable that you’re alone on Valentine’s Day. Feeling unlucky yet?
Well, stop the self-loathing because Saint Valentine had it a lot worse. While many legends exist about who St. Valentine really was, they all end with him being murdered. At least you’re still breathing, right? Anyway, on to the romantic tidbit… One legend has it that St. Valentine was imprisoned in a Roman jail, being beaten and tortured on the daily. While enduring this utter hell, he still lived up to his reputation of being a true romantic by sending what’s believed to be the very first "valentine’s greeting" to his jailor’s daughter. You can guess how the story ends…especially since I already told you. But, like, OMG—how sweet, right? So let’s keep that same romantic energy going this month, except please stay out of jail and alive while doing it.
Last spring, we wrote about Xotica-Go-Go making a comeback. A homegrown recipe of all-star DJs and exotic go-go dancers that once ruled Thursday nights in the heart of downtown Portland—for those that aren’t familiar. If you haven’t experienced it yet, you’re truly missing out on a very unique strip club experience. Think of all the things you like clubs for but with the sexy and sultry accents of a strip club. There’s plenty going on elsewhere in the industry. Let’s start with birthdays first! On Friday, February 2, at Stars Cabaret (Bridgeport), it’s Ariel and Mikayla’s Birthday Party! Then, on Thursday, February 8, Raven and Kiwi’s Birthday Bash is at The Lounge. The next week, on Friday, February 16, Destiny’s Birthday Party is at Guilty Pleasures. Another birthday the following weekend, on Saturday, February 24, right back at Guilty Pleasures—Jane’s Birthday Party! Happy Birthday, ladies! Enjoy your special day!
Moving on to events, don’t miss Lucky Devil’s 16-Year Anniversary Party on Friday, February 9, complete with free catered food, a photo booth, and two dancers on stage all night long! Speaking of anniversaries, we’d also like to congratulate Victress Entertainment on its 5-year anniversary!

Taboo is holding its annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, February 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at its Vancouver, Washington location. It’s an event that never disappoints, featuring "ice cream sundaes served by scantily clad beefcake and cheesecake individuals." There’ll also be prizes and giveaways. Say less!
Wrapping up the events, Stars Cabaret (Salem) will hold a special Valentine’s Day-themed party, appropriately named “Bite Me,” featuring special drinks and bite-size treats! Yummy!
